THE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE MANAGER WILL….

Be responsible for managing the Business Intelligence function and team within SAXX. This is a unique opportunity to work mostly remote at a company where data-driven decision making is a core pillar, not an afterthought. If you are passionate about working within Azure and PowerBI, we’d love to speak with you.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Define and execute the overall BI strategy, aligning it with SAXX’s strategic priorities and OKRs 
  • Lead the design, development, and management of BI systems, including data warehousing, data visualization, and reporting tools to ensure accurate and timely access to information 
  • Lead requirements gathering and scoping, short and long-term planning, and sequencing of initiatives that drive successful business outcomes 
  • Extend SAXX’s MS SQL Server data warehouse on Azure to incorporate new data sources 
  • Build new reports and dashboards in PowerBI, collaborating closely with FP&A on requirements and data validation 
  • Pilot innovative reporting tools and techniques including AI and predictive analytics 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data analytics to drive business growth, efficiency, and innovation 
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors, partners, and industry experts to stay current on emerging trends, tools, and best practices  
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team of BI professionals, fostering a fun and engaging team environment that celebrates success 
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of BI systems, implementing continuous improvement measures to optimize performance and value 
  • Communicate complex data findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making across the organization 
  • Create and track project and operational budgets, ensuring alignment to the department budget 

 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or relevant qualification  
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI Development and within a leadership role
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing dashboards in PowerBI 
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data and analytics strategies, with a strong understanding of BI systems, data warehousing, data visualization, ETLs, and reporting tools 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and drive actionable insights 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills  
  • High degree of flexibility with the ability to adapt to a changing environment   
  • Desire to have a high degree of responsibility 
  • Proven track record of delivering collaborative and business-focused solutions 

 

NICE TO HAVE: 

  • Familiarity with accounting principles 
  • Experience with SQL database administration and query optimization 
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O 
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment 
  • Experience working in the apparel, wholesale, or retail industry

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $120,000-$130,000. The final aligned upon salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and job-related knowledge.
